IT'S ALMOST THAT TIME OF THE YEAR

Shirley Buhrow, coordinator for the Winter Park Christmas Parade, would like to invite all Grey owners and their "Great Greys" to join her in the parade. It is scheduled for Saturday, December 6. The time is normally meeting at 8AM with our part of the parade lasting until about noon. The last four years, we were in the beginning of the parade.

It is a large parade, filmed and carried several times throughout the holidays on local TV. The route is right down Park Avenue, where we walk with the dogs and hand out candy, and information of Greyhound Adoptions. The spectators are all dressed up for Christmas and often have their dogs with them as Winter Park is very dog friendly. After the parade, the participants often have lunch outside with their Greys and visit the farmers market. It is a wonderful experience and really puts you in the holiday spirit.

The entrance fee is $10.00 per dog and can be given to Shirley the morning of the parade, but she does need to have a count as soon as possible. Please contact Shirley directly by phone at 407-644-8878, with your names and how many dogs you are bringing.

She is also looking for 2 high school students to carry our banner and the best job of all – a scooper! Also, younger kids can hand out candy canes.  If you or your kids can help out that would be wonderful. Also, if you want to be in the parade but do not have a Grey, let Shirley know and we can use one of our Kennel Kuties.

Those of you who have gone to this event in the past know how much fun it is. Those of you who are new to this are in for a super experience.

BY THE WAY, please dress up your Greys and yourself in the best holiday finery.
