Personality
Needy or
independent?
Friendly, shy, or indifferent?
Unsure or confident? Any cute antics?
|
|
In the home Stu is independent but he shows affection. He is quite friendly but he might take a few minutes to warm up to new people. When Stu gets excited he bounces up and down, but he doesn’t jump on anyone. He is just beginning to play with toys. When in public Stu is much more likely to
stick right to your side until he is comfortable with new
surroundings. |
Prey Drive
Cat safe or not.
Small dog safe or not.
Lunges?
|
|
Stu has not shown any aggression towards cats or small dogs. While at the dog park Stu plays with some of the smaller dogs. He does great with Jack Russels and other dogs their size. Stu is not a fan of small dogs jumping up
towards his face but he is becoming much more tolerant of
it. |
Food Drive
Good or picky
eater? Will
take treats from your hand? Checks out counters and garbage?
|
|
Stu usually cleans his plate. He has never seemed too picky. He will take treats from your hand, if he is in a comfortable surrounding. Currently, he only takes them at home and at the dog park. I have not had any issues with Stu
getting up on the counters or into the trash, he is
well-mannered in that regard. |
Diet
Brand of food,
how much, and how often.
Doing well on the food?
Any feeding issues?
Food aggression?
|
|
Purina 1 Adult Dog formula.
No feeding issues or aggression.
Stu has been trained to wait patiently on his bed
while his food is prepared.
He doesn’t come to eat until he is invited to do so. |
Leash Walking
|
|
Stu walks great on a leash.
It is a rare instance that he pulls. |
Crating
Crates well or
not?
Recommend a suitable crate size for the GH.
Minimum size for
dogs under 60lbs
–
|
|
Stu does not crate well.
He will do everything in his power to get out (which
he has done before).
I do not crate him, however he has recently spent
some time in there on his own while I have been home. |
Alone Time
Spent any time
alone? How did it go?
|
|
Stu has been left alone for up to 5
hours. He has
had periodic accidents but I have found that if he is taken
outside just before I leave he seems to be fine.
It appears as though he spends most of the time
staring out of the window waiting for me to return home. |
Car Riding
How did riding
in a vehicle go?
|
|
Stu does fine in the car.
He jumps right in and usually lays right down in the
back seat. If
he remains standing, he usually responds to the “lay down”
command. |
Other Dogs
Gets along with
your GHs or not?
Other breeds of dogs?
|
|
Stu gets along famously with all sorts of
breeds. We
spend at least 10 hours a week at the dog park so he has had
the opportunity to be exposed to numerous breeds. |
Children
Afraid,
indifferent, or affectionate towards children?
|
|
As long as the kids aren’t extremely
noisy or excited he does fine with them.
If they are hyper or loud he will just avoid them. |
Fears
Thunderstorms?
Loud noises?
|
|
Stu is not a fan of thunderstorms, but he
isn’t as anxious about them as he used to be. |
Potential
Problems
Housetraining?
Small dogs?
Counter surfing?
Garbage digging?
|
|
Being left home alone for extended
periods of time could be an issue. |
Other Comments
|
|
Stu is a sweet boy!
Like most greys, he loves to get his 18 hours/day of
sleep. He is a
wonderful companion and he is eager to please his human.
With very little effort he has picked up on commands
and generally listens very well.
He is very well behaved and well mannered in and out
of the home.
