Warning about Pig Ears
We want to share this recall information from the FDA regarding Pig Ears.
GPA has never recommended Pig Ears as treats because of this very reason, contamination from Salmonella. This is not the first such notice of salmonella contamination.
Although there is no recall, also not recommended are Raw Hide chews. They contain a variety of chemicals; and when they get gummy the dogs will typically swallow them, causing vomiting, diarrhea, a stomach blockage, or some combination. A stomach blockage requires surgery to correct.
Soup marrow bones make great treats, and they are 100% natural. Let us know if you are not familiar with these bones.
