ELMO'S STORY

ELMO
Age unknown -- 2006

ELMO, rescued by GPA after being saved from back yard beatings from his previous owners. He was sent to Mary Beth Lake for rescue since he was really a Whippet. We thought we would get a smaller pet and company for Duke. Elmo, dear Elmo, was double the trouble. "No" just was not in his vocabulary. There was no way he would stay out
of our bed. He liked to patrol the kitchen counter tops when we were  gone. ( We found that out by accident on day).

 Elmo was the babysitter, nursemaid and cuddle muffin. He took that job on by himself. We had a stray rescue kitten that he promptly picked up and slapped on the floor to groom and get the mats out. The kitten thought Elmo was his Mom.

When we were sick or down, Elmo was there to cuddle and give us comfort. He spent many an hour cuddled with our little girl Kristina on the sofa. Elmo has a very special place in our hearts. He earned that slot very early on.
