Bd’s Menudo

“Noodles”

04/13/1999-10/02/2010

Noodles came to live with me in June, 2008. At the GPA office when I was completing the paperwork, he kept nudging me on my elbow.  Then he backed up and flashed his famous grin at me.  I was delighted that he had, in his way, picked me. He was a good boy, but a nervous one.  He was first at the door when I came home, first at his dinner bowl, first one out the door, and last in the bath.  Someone had taught him to stay off the bed, but I didn’t care. I was amused at the way he would sneak off the bed when I got home, thinking he hadn’t been caught. He liked throwing his toys in the air.  He loved to run across the backyard, full speed, relishing in his glory as I clapped my hands and cheered him on. He got away from me one day, trotting down the street.  Then he looked back and laughed at me because I couldn’t catch up to him. (Silly human!!!  You can’t catch a greyhound!!) After about ten minutes, he got his worried look on his face and headed back home, deciding that home was where he needed to be. He had the most expressive face.  He didn’t like having his routine upset and would get a case of diarrhea just going to the vet's for a bath. He loved rides in the car, doggy ice cream, treats and his squeaky squirrel.  One night, he wanted to go outside and he didn’t come back in. I flipped the lights and he still didn’t come back in.  I went out to check on him and he had died in the yard.  The vet said it was probably an hemangioma.  I’m grateful it was quick for him and painless.  Now his cremains rest in the back yard he loved.
