WOLF'S HURRY ON affectionately known as RUSTY

and his buddy, BEANIE

adopted by Dee Clark

RUSTY

RUSTY AND BEANIE

Rusty joined our family on April 8, 2003. GPA/GO was looking for a group to take some dogs.

Well, our group had room for 3. I was willing to take one, so I start looking for a suitable foster.

I've only fostered females in the past, so this time I thought I'd try a male. I start looking at the dogs, & asking about cat & small dog safe as I had a cat & a small dog, (as you can see in the pics.).

I kept thinking, what if this dog doesn't get adopted, I really wasn't looking to adopt at that time, and I knew I would fall in love with this dog! So I kept looking & looking, let's see, which one do I want to foster, and then all of a sudden, there he was right in my face, the most  Beautiful boy I had ever seen, Wolf's Hurry On!!   I thought, oh wow, if only he was cat & small dog safe,  I asked just for the heck of it, and wouldn't you know, they said he WAS!!!

Well, I figured if I had this boy, he would surely get adopted quickly. So, we started making plans on how to get this big boy to NY. It took some doing, but they managed to get a plane big enough for him and 2 of his buddies to fly them here.

When I got him home, I put a muzzle on him and opened the door.  My black cat sat in the doorway and wouldn't move.  Rusty was afraid to come in!!  I knew he was cat safe from that point on, in fact for the first week or so, if the cat came in the room, he'd get up and go to another room, silly boy.

I don't have to tell you how the story ends, but I do have to tell you, there were lots of people asking if he was up for adoption!

Rusty was so gentle and he loved life, everything and everyone in it! He loved to lay with Beanie and would have laid with my other greys Mindy & Abby if they would've let him.  My granddaughters loved him and he loved it when they would lay on the floor with him. He was my best friend and he followed me everywhere.

Rusty left us Sept. 5,2007 due to kidney failure.

I miss looking outside and not seeing you playing or laying in the yard;

I miss when I look down at your pillow and not see you there sleeping;

and I miss when I get cookies for the others, and you're not there waiting so patiently for yours.

We're so grateful to GPA/GO for getting you to NY to live out your retirement with us, you were our Perfect dog!

We love and miss you soo much sweetie. You and Beanie take care of each other.
