MACY AND BUFORD

My name is Angela and I am the lucky owner of two very special greyhounds - Macy (Craigie Maythorn) and Buford (Our Buford).  I have wanted to write you for a while and am finally getting around to it.

My husband and I discovered Virginia Greyhound Adoption (VAGA) and adopted Macy on March 15, 2008.  I cannot begin to tell you how that decision has changed my life.  Macy captured my heart from the moment I laid eyes on her when she arrived in VA from Florida.  I fell so in love with Macy and we instantly bonded with each other in a way that I never could have imagined - she was the perfect match for us!  On June 29, 2008 we welcomed Buford into our home and hearts…which leads me to the reason I am writing you.  I’m sure you remember Buford since I was told that he pulled at your heartstrings.  I wanted to sincerely thank you for everything you did for him.  I had never heard of “running the back off” of a dog and I have no idea what he must have looked like when he came to you.

However, I wanted to let you know how much we appreciate all of the medical work and tests you had run on Buford to make sure that he was a healthy boy.  I can understand why it was so easy for you fall in love with him and as his new mom I am so glad that you went above and beyond to take such good care of him.  He is such a cuddlebug and is always so playful and happy!  He loves his toys and is incredibly attached to Macy.  Macy is definitely the boss, but he is okay with that and enjoys her company so much that he hates for her to get out of his sight.

Attached are some pictures of Buford as I thought you might enjoy an update on this handsome boy who is so very loved.  I hope to meet you one day and thank you in person, but for now an email will have to do to let you know how your efforts and hard work are appreciated and what an impact you’ve had on so many lives.

Macy and Buford are thoroughly enjoying their retirement and have inspired me to become an active volunteer with VAGA and I also just starting hosting a Meet and Greet at a new location in hopes of finding more homes for the Orlando greyhounds!

Thanks again and best of luck with all of the beautiful greyhounds still waiting for their forever homes!
