FEATURED HOUNDS

PHARAOH

WHO IS PHARAOH?

While each and every Greyhound who comes into our program is precious to us, we are dedicating the proceeds from our garage sale this year to benefit one very, very special boy . . . a boy not unlike your own Greyhound . . . a boy with beautiful, big, brown eyes, who greets you with that happy, tail-wagging enthusiasm.   He is a Greyhound much like yours, but his life was very, very different.

Pharaoh was left in a neighboring County Animal Control Shelter on March 19, with a massive tumor literally hanging out of the right side of his mouth. His upper lip was pulled around this huge growth, distorting his face. He was emaciated but was very hungry, and despite the tumor, he was able to eat and drink. Two GPA volunteers retrieved him within hours and took him immediately to the GPA vet.

He came with no name, so we named him Pharaoh.

Three days later Dr. Pentek removed this huge mass utilizing electrocautery surgery, and immediately Pharaoh's whole life changed, as you can see from these photos. He went to the GPA Kennel to rest and recuperate, and to gain the weight that he so badly needs.

Despite the horror of his abusive and inhumane treatment for who knows how long, Pharaoh is a sweet, loving, gentle soul, and we are blessed to be part of his life.

His health continues to improve and gaining weight.  He should be available for adoption in the near future.

Pharaoh has been lovingly nursed back to good health and to a good weight...Now he awaits a forever family who will love him as much as his GPA family.
