Welcome to GPA/GO!
After 25 years, GPA/GO will no longer be receiving retired racing Greyhounds from the local track. That track has closed, and there are no more available racers. As of January 1, 2021, Greyhound racing is illegal in the state of Florida.
Our new role in the Greyhound Community is to remain an active local resource for any Greyhound in an emergency or otherwise dangerous/compromised situation. This Greyhound may have a physical condition or injury requiring care, be in a shelter, be lost or found, or be without an adopter, owner, or advocate. GPA/GO will work cooperatively with other reputable Greyhound organizations* in the Central Florida area to provide a continuity of care for these endangered Greyhounds.
Inquiries are still welcome. Our email address (firstname.lastname@example.org) is unchanged, and our phone number is 321-303-9434.
Lost or found Greyhounds should be reported immediately to our number, day or night.

As you may recall, Greyhound Pets of America/Greater Orlando (GPA/GO) closed its office and adoption kennel on September 1, 2020. The Board of Directors has now filed the necessary dissolution paperwork with The Florida Department of Corporations to terminate our non-profit (501c3) organization effective May 15, 2022. In short, GPA/GO will no longer be in existence. We will no longer be able to conduct any financial business which includes collecting monetary donations. Our PayPal account, as well as any connections to charity giving through Amazon Smile, have all been discontinued. Our website will remain active until our domain lease runs out later this year. The Facebook page will be closing down in a few weeks.
Looking back on many successful years, we are ever-grateful for all of our adopters, volunteers, kennel staff, benefactors and the generosity of all those who came forward to donate materials, manpower and financial support. We had a mission, we served a purpose, we made a difference and we could not have met all of our challenges without the dedicated support of our dear friends.
While the final chapter of our story has been written, we will always have the wonderful memories of all the Greyhounds we placed in homes with the loving people we have had the pleasure to meet and welcome into the world of Greyhounds. Keep your Greyhounds and your memories close to your heart.
Wishing you all the very best.

It is with profound sadness that the Board of Directors of GPA/GO announce the passing of Karen Fleming. Karen’s association with GPA/GO goes back nearly two decades. Several of those years she served as kennel manager, a position she held until the time we closed our facilities on September 1, 2020.
Her kindness and genuine caring made every Greyhound who came into the Adoption Kennel feel loved and welcome as they entered a new phase in their lives. She had a special place in her heart for each and every one of them and no one knew their personalities quite like Karen.
Over the years, she fostered and adopted many Greyhounds. She was always there when a special needs dog required a little extra love and attention. She truly loved these unique and wonderful hounds.
Karen also was the organizer and hostess for many of our holiday-themed gatherings at the GPA/GO office. During the Christmas season you could always find her gift wrapping to benefit the Greyhounds. She also had artistic talents making stained glass items and mosaic tables, many of which she generously donated for our fundraising events.
Karen left this world with so many paw prints upon her heart and we know that there will be many tail-wagging hounds awaiting her arrival on the other side. Thank you, Karen, for your many years of dedication to GPA/GO. You will be missed and fondly remembered.
Corey is a male white and red fawn weighing about 70 pounds. He is very shy and not very sure of himself, so we would prefer that he goes into his forever home with a female Greyhound that is outgoing. He is not good with small dogs, cats, and small children. He loves to lean against your leg and is looking for someone who will show him affection and let him get comfortable at his own pace. LOCAL ADOPTIONS IN THE ORLANDO AREA ONLY.
Six is our beautiful girl who is so outgoing and bubbly. She is a joy to be around. She was born 7/2013 and was returned by her owners who could not keep her anymore. She really does not act her age. She is looking for a forever home with no small dogs, no cats, and no small children. We prefer that she goes into a home with another male greyhound.
LOCAL ADOPTION IN THE ORLANDO AREA ONLY.
We are posting this on behalf of another Greyhound group. If you can help with this fundraiser, please do. Any question about it should be directed to the emails listed in the post.
